TUI & First Choice To Merge

Apparantley FC are going to be the Long Haulers and Thomsons the Short Haulers.
This is because FC have the larger star class planes and also have ordered the Boeing 787 dreamliners for 2008/2009.

It would be sad to see FC go down the toilet, we use them every year even when they were Air 2000, we have always had excellent hotels and service and their last minute deals are great.

TUI & First Choice To Merge

Postby scottdazzler on Mon Jun 04, 2007 4:58 pm

Thomson was once a quality name offering quality holidays through quality orientated staff. Since the TUI take over this did indeed disappear and First Chocie took the lead in being known throughout thew UK as the NEW and better quality company.

Thomson ( formerly Britannia ) is an atrocuous airline. It's prices have increased whilst quality and service has all but disappeared. The staff are not at all friendly and do not have the best interest of the customer in mind - maybe this is part of their training programme.

On the other hand FIRST CHOICE is the complete opposite of this. Excellent staff on board their aircarft as well as in resort - and I fear that this may disappear with the new company Tui Travel

It doesn't really matter now who owns what or what the name is - to the BRITISH public.

BANKS and financial houses are all holding the purse strings and the Travel companies have to conform to what is dictated to them.

Good luck

As a First Choice emloyee, i am glad to see you all behind First Choice!
We have been told no more than what has been said in the press so it is just a case of waiting. Dont really know how i feel about it, would be quite good to be a part of the largest travel company!! But i also would not like to see the standard of our flights go to pot!!

If the owners of First choice wanted to sell why didn't they offer their staff and loyal customers a chance to buy it between them?
Or is it silly money I cant even imagine?

TUI & First Choice To Merge

Hiya Lollie

I also work for First Choice, and I too feel really proud to read all these positive reports about us!!

But I am shocked at all the negative reports for Thomson/Tui. It worries me for the future. I suppose we are all in the same boat, and there are so many rumours going around at the moment.

I'm not just thinking about my job, for last few years I've always flown First Choice and as a nervous flyer it helps that the flights have always
been excellent. I hope we don't lose our great service.
