A familiar tale - my parents have also recently returned from Tenerife having found themselves the victims of misleading sales tactics of Freedom Vacation / Global Destinations plc et al.
Scratch card, prize..........etc
There is no doubt they will neer see their 375 up front payment but at least I've prevented them from shelling out a further 4000 to a company that may not even exist.
They claimed that my parwents would get their money back after 4 years and even put this in writing - still not worth the paper it was written on.
Our local Trading Standards do not speak very highly of the 'company'
Steer well clear of this outfit everyone.

Hello,
Me and my partner are literally feeling rather sick!! we have recently come back from a nice holiday in Tenerife and us too were approached by a couple in the street saying they were carrying out a holiday survey and gave us a scratch card lo and behold you guessed it we had won a bottle of champagne and a free holiday!!
All they needed from us was an hour of our time, so we like many others ended up being there for 3 hours!! and parted with 2250!! with a promise of cheap holidays and all our money back in 4yrs, we thought that this was to good an opportunity to miss and went along and signed up, now they we are home and thought we should look into this we now realise that this is a total scam!! I can't believe we were so foolish.
Today we have checked our credit card and they haven't taken any money and luckily the credit card company suggested that we cancel the card and it has now been cancelled!! I am just worried now that they will be coming after us for this money one way or another!!
can they take us to court?? would really appreciate a thread back.
Cheers

Hi,
Just got back from Tenerife, We too got roped into an hour of the FVN sales pitch, but we said No after 45 mins and the guy just waffled for another 15 minutes so that we could claim a free bottle of booze and a free holiday, which we won't be going on because it is all a con anyway, But for an hour we got 10 euros, a nice cold glass of coke and an air-conditioned office to cool down in. We just told them that it wasn't a decision we were prepared to make instantly, that we would go away and talk about it, Thats not what they want, they just want you to sign there and then, so we said NO No No.

Was on holiday in Tenrife September 07 and the same thing happend to us scratch cards, taxi, free breakfast the lot!!! with Freedom Vacation. only parted with 100 but had a balance of 8.400 to pay by 14th Oct. Realised it was a scam & sent a recorded letter cancelling as soon as we got home, had a phone call from them as we got home & told them about the letter, they did not get into much conversation with us but told us that they would now pass it to their legal team.
We believe it is a crimianl offence to make false or misleading claims when drawing up a legal documant and this is our case ( if we need one)
It is now 1 week over the "due date" and we have heard nothing, will let you know of further developments.

Hi,
Do you know if Holiday Netwok Solutions is selling their own bogus long holiday discount product or are they marketers of CCH, DWVC or whatever other fraudulent company?

AGALBE - this thread is nothing to do with Holiday Network Solutions. Look for the HNS thread further down the page for info. Scam company. See also www.timesharetalk.co.uk/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=5938

Hello
We got back from Costa Adeje yesterday, BOY! do I wish I had seen this website before we went.
We appear to have been scammed too!! we did the scratch card, she seemed a nice woman, from Oldham, took us back to the office for an hour's chat thanked us for the bonus she would get because we won a holiday etc etc etc......... then after 3 1/2 hours, yes it does indeed seem too good to be true, so we like mugs signed up & have parted with 3,500.00 which I will today see if I can get back on my credit card. The balance another 3,250 is due in November, our liason is called Sharon Vile - I should have taken that as an omen!!
Oh and there's a sting in the tail too! we were asked to sign a form which asked for comments, comments like had we been pressurised into buying??? we hadn't really but we had been worn down......... but I am now wondering if this will be superimposed into another document as a total disclaimer??
It's hard to believe it is a scam as all the documents look so professional? how an people be so damm cruel?? is it really all fr the money???
