We are going to this hotel in a fortnight's time with 2 children - 4 and 18 months and am just thinking about what to pack and what we can get there. I understand from reading reviews there isn't much in the area and that you need to go into Sousse/Monastir for shopping. Is there anywhere near the hotel to buy the usual kids essentials - buckets and spades etc? Is there a supermarket anywhere in the vicinity should we run out of nappies (not planning to but you never know!)
Thanks in advance
Carol

There was a shop in the "safari" complex next door to the hotel, although I'm not sure if they did buckets and spades. There were also a few other shops in the hotel itself (as we weren't with kids I didn't pay too much attention to those practicalities)
There were plenty of kids staying at the hotel so I expect there will be somewhere nearby that caters to their needs.
The trip into Monastir is only 10 mins by car or you could take the kids on the "Noddy Train" which takes a bit longer but is a bit of a novelty.
Sorry I can't be of any more help, have a good holiday

I love this hotel and although I dont have young children I have noticed that there are buckets and spades in the shop on site but only a limited amount . I am not sure if your 3 year old will join Hamida in the childrens club but if so they hold buckets and spades and it may be worth renting them if that is allowable . I would make sure that you take plenty of nappies as they are available but very expensive but if you should run out then rather than try and hunt them out I would jump in a taxi and go to the champiano supermarket , this is a supermarket that the tunisians use but they sell everything . its also quite a secret to tourists !!!!
There is an english lady called jan who works in the hotel and if you need anything go to her .
also with the food if your little ones dont like it ask for something and if it is in the restaurants power they will try and sort something for you ( the chicken pie is amazing though)
Should disaster strike in the way of clean clothes there is a laundry on site but I would pack a bit of everything .
I hope you have a wonderful holiday , the animation team love children and will make a fuss of them all the time . Ive been here 5 times in the last 2years and always said I would never go back to a place .
A word of warning though the airport is a nightmare you have to queue to get through passport control , join a queue and go to the loo in relays and id make sure you have something for the little ones to eat /drink as it could take a while .
Have fun and send my love to all - i'll see them in November !!!! -

We arrive there on 20th june, went same time last year, shop on site sells inflatables and bits n bobs, but expensive, if u can fit them in take them ! not over catered for very young, kids club smashin if old enough, only safari shop within walking distance, lot cheaper thou, not sure on nappies but dont think so never really looked, so could be. Full of fake jewellrey and t shirts, plus few expensive essentials. Dont let me put u off, had fantastic time last year, loved the place, hence the return, youngest 9 thou, they are brill wit kids. Take what you can 4 little ones, might save u a journey. Remember, tunisia is tunisia, not the uk, remember that and i'm sure you'll all hav fantastic time.
