Postby Vicky22 on Sat Jun 23, 2007 8:24 am

Never been to Malloca before, staying in the resort of playa de muro/alcudia in the Viva Blue Apartments.

Going 18th of September for 2 weeks.

If anyone has any advice on where to go and what to do I would much appreciate!!

Thanks

Vicky

Weather in September

Hey Vicky. We have been to Playa De Muro a couple of times and love it so much that we have booked again for this September. We first went in September and spent 3 days out of our 5 days in the rain (well in the pub/shops because it was raining!) which I believe is not unusual for September. It depends what you like doing, but we would recommend going on the Muro train; a small train which takes you all round Muro - very useful for getting your bearings. We do not go on the buses as they are far too packed - to the point of being dangerous and taxis are not that expensive. The beaches in Muro are the best by far and even if you are not a beachbum, it is well worth dipping your toes. Tuesday is market day in Alcudia - 5-7 euros for a taxi from Muro and very worth a visit. We don't really do "english" pubs or restaurants so can't help you much but if you want REALLY good spanish cooking, go to S'Albufera grill on the main stretch. There are plenty of shows, excursions etc and most hotels have information on these and can book these for you. Also worth a look are the S'Albufera wetlands and the giant maze (check their website at www.amazenlaberintos.com). We have not stayed at the Viva Blue but believe they are lovely (I have done quite a bit of research for our past 2 holidays).
Hope some of this helps and that you have a fab holiday.

Hi Vicky. The rain we experienced was typical Spanish rain - short burst of very heavy rain that then dried really quickly as it was still very hot. The rain at night lasted longer but it was still lovely to sit under shelter as it was warm. As far as things closing are concerned, we have only been in early September (latest we have come home is 10th) and everything was open. We are going again 3-10 September this year (just booked it) so I will put an update on here for you when I get back.

That would be great, if you could maybe ask some of the staff about mid September time see what it's like??!! We go 18th Sep - 02nd October! I think things shut at the end of October, so should be Ok!

Have been told about the amazing thunder storms they have in that time, but the weather is still sun batheing weather during the day! First time abroad for 3 years so just want it to be good haha!

Thanks for all your help

Hi Vicky we have been to Majorca quite a few times. We went to Cala D'or last September (19th-26th) weather was fab all week apart from one cloudy morning.
Went to Alcudia in October a few years ago and had a sunny dry week then too.
Hope the weather will be good the week you are going as I am going to Portugal that week too.

dont worry beach in alcudia best on the island.if you like sun bathing that much you wont leave the beach. not only that the sea is so clear you can walk out 100 yards before it covers you.plenty bars to pop in and have a cool drink.also plenty of restaurants.if you dont enjoy alcudia you will be ahard women to please.
