Hiya Tony,

No we didn't see the sunsets. I think you have to go to San Antonio for those. There were buses but we had a real lazy holiday and didn't go too far.

We had a day in Ibiza Town we went round the old quarter and up to the cathedral. We had to go during the day as we went by boat which was lovely but we found the day was too hot, both me and the hubby had headaches, probably heatstroke. On talking to other people they recommended a night-time visit, but you would have to catch a bus there and taxi back.

We found Mangoes, had heard of it from the reviews but we didn't eat there. We tended to eat in the town, or on the main seafront/marina area. If you wanted to eat at the C'an Sanso the food is passable, but its worth trying other, better places. However the C'an Sanso had the best Sangria we EVER had. Don't know why it was any different but it was. Maybe eat out but have your drinks when you get back.

A restaurant i would recommend is Cafeteria Mayol, in Carrer D'Algemesi (just off the mid-town square where the daily market is held), its good quality and much cheaper than the seafront restaurants. Also the Mar y Sol along the seafront is very good, it does paella for 1, at 10,50e. A more expensive option is the El Corsario Negro by the marina. Although the food was excellent, it was quite cold (not the food) as it was out of the sun in the evening, (maybe not so in August).

The C'an Sanso evening entertainment starts at 10pm. Its not too bad, the kids enjoyed the parrot show but they charge 10e for a photo with the parrot scratting on your head! I think the entertainment is on a 2-week cycle but we only stayed 1 week. My son was disappointed because there was a country music show the day after we left!

There is a small beach called 'Bora Bora' or 'Nia Blau' just a short walk (5-10 mins) but you turn left, not right when you leave the C'an Sanso road. It has cafes and toilets, sunbeds and parasols. The main beach in Santa Eulalia town is a lot nicer with soft white sand but there are no public toilets as far as I could see. That would be a 20 minute walk from the apartments but it could be longer with little children.

There is a mini train which you can catch from outside the Tres Torres hotel (about 15 mins away). The morning route takes you to Es Figural beach, Sant Carles church and a lovely old farmhouse. The evening route takes you to Es Cana. Its a good trip for adults and children alike.

Mikala the Thomson rep visits regularly and you can buy Thomson excursions but they are very expensive. Probably worth it if you can afford it, as we have done them in the past in Menorca and they were very good.

The pool at the apartments is great, its nice and clean. There is mini-golf for the children (or yourself) you can have as many goes as you like for 2e per person. If you have teenagers theres 2 pool tables. Also twice a week the scuba diving people visit. You can have a free go in the hotel pool, then if you want to try it for real you can book with them. We didn't stay long enough to book the real thing but if we went again we might do.

We never stay in the same place twice, but I would highly recommend this place to someone else, and would definitly come back here if I hadn't resolved to visit different places.

Sorry, when I said the main beach was nicer, I only meant the sand was nicer. The Bora Bora beach was a really nice relaxing place, just a bit shingly at the waters edge. No jelly fish in may/june.

Hi Helspeth

Thanks for your reply we cant wait to go, ready for some sun after all this rain we have had.

we just want to have a relaxing holiday so wont be doing too many excursions and if we do we always go without booking through holiday company they always charge too much.

have been to Ibiza before, but we like to go to differant places each year went to Italy last year including Venice it was great i would recomend it.

Hi Helspeth

Going to can sanso in September and have booked a two bedroom apartment. Just wondering if you know if the ceiling fans are in the bedrooms or just in the lounge. Enjoyed reading your review and found them very helpful. Thank you Rhian
