Green Beach Resort - Any Reviews?
I've just come back from week there. The beer is draught Tuborg - I'm not a lager drinker so this seemed fine to me. The spirits are cheaper versions of your normal Smirnoff, Malibu etc. but, they pile it in. I had a vodka and coke which was about 3/4 vodka to 1/4 coke.
There are a number of bars around the complex - the main swimming pool has an outside bar with a roof which is the main bar where people go in the evening.
There is a Disco which closes at 1am and the floor underneath reception has a 24hr bar but it's a pretty chilled out bar rather than somewhere to go and get steaming and go mental. In fact, it's not really that sort of resort at all anyway.
One thing that will drive you nuts - there is no concept amongst the bar staff as to who is actually next in the queue. Just pipe up and you'll be ok. I wouldn't bother with the tipping strategy as the staff swap and change so, you could end up giving a few quid to someone and then they disappear.
So, you could, if you want, drink all day and night. It's nowhere near any other nightlife - about 1/2 to 3/4 of an hour on the Dolmush to Bodrum. This costs 4.50 Lira per journey (there and back is x2 obviously) and leaves from outside reception every 1/2 an hour. I'm not sure what hours this runs - someone else may know.
They also have an all night Disco on a boat which sails to Greek waters. Beware though as you get a free drink but then you have to start paying and it works out at about 7 a drink.
Just a few little things - it seems pot luck as to what standard of room you have. We had one of the "bungalows" and it was fine - everything worked and a decent aircon unit. You may read in places that peoples fridges broke, no aircon etc. - if you are unlucky, ask to be moved and if they come it, threaten to go to the Turkish authorities, Tourist Board etc. and they will generally start jumping and sort you out.
The safes cost 10 quid - don't trust leaving valuables around your room as wages in Turkey are really low apparently and I wouldn't tempt them to steal my stuff.
Also, due to the unsociable hours with flights, arrivals and departures etc, you may find yourself at the end of your stay in a situation where you have to leave your room about 12 hours or more before you leave the hotel - ask to keep your room on. It's 50 Euros - approx 87 Lira - approx 35. DON'T pay any more. I heard stories about some people being charged double - I can't see it but just in case.
You can get a bit of info from their website and there are quite a few pics as well - http://www.greenbeachresortbodrum.com
All in all, I really enjoyed it. I'd definitely go back.
Hope this helps...

Green Beach Resort - Any Reviews?
hi got back yesterday from my third trip to gren beach and i think that says it all.
all the entertainment staff are mega, food good and you couldnt want for any more booze as the othe person said 3/4 alcohol to mixer.
last time i went on my own, saddo that i am and everyone made me feel really welcome.
rooms are ok but contrary to the staff stealing i left some money out and my camera and nothing was taken in spain i think it would be different.
in respect for paying for the room the didnt charge me at all so prehaps its a bit hit and miss....
have a great time wish i was coming with you
