Hi,
We stayed in bini beca in minorca May 2007 booked through Thomas Cook, style villas.
The area is very quiet with a small shopping centre with bars and restraunts and a very close beach. Minorca is that small that every where is close by car, i would highly reccomend this area.
Anyone stayed in a decent villa?

I have stayed in a two in the past two years.
Moraira, very nice little resort, good in the costa blanca, good selection of bars and restuarnts, not over busy even in august. I would recommend it. And Pego a little further up the coast, too remote, we had to drive every where although the villa was great.
I have looked at Villasplus site and found it too expensive, you can find much cheaper, and better accomodation on ownersdirect, you do have to look very carefully at who you send money to though, as you don't have that tour company protection.

Yes Ive looked at owners direct before out of curiosity, not sure what we are doing this year yet.
Ive seen some nice villas in crete with FC , who we normally go with , but im not sure if I would miss meeting people on holiday If i stayed in a villa if you know what i mean.We normally stay in apartments or Hotels. I like the idea of our own pool as Im always swimming, but not sure whether we would feel isolated. The only way to find out is to do a villa hol and see if we like it.

Look at North Cyprus; the Turkish Cypriots love kids, there's lots to see and do, and the beaches are wonderful. The boys might enjoy exploring Crusader castles, then racing each other on the go-cart track by night!Try hiring a privately-owned villa in a development; this might sound odd, but most developments have good pools and other facilites the kids will enjoy. Also, some are close to original villages, such as those round Esentepe, but do check with the owner that your short walk is just that, not a five minute drive down mountain roads! The north coast is probably the best chocie for things to do, but the east coast around Bogaz is catching up fast. For great flight deals (and some package deals) try www.gonorthcyprus.com; www.cyprus44.com has lots of information.
