Hi Claire,

As ive said in a aprevious post we were gonna get married with a hotel but decided to go with a company that was reccommended to us,cyprus dream weddings, they have given us so much help even before we booked with them, check out their website its got all the info and pictures, their based in paphos so they know everything there is to know, give them an email they will give you quotes for just ceremony or with reception etc they can do the whole lot or just the wedding, they deal with all the hotels so can book your service with the hotel you wanted and you dont have to book the holiday with them, were doing ours seperately, asi say they have been a great help and if you search around you ll find some reviews of their service,i hope all goes well for you and congrats on the big day.

Getting married in Paphos. Advice please.

My son is getting married at the Elysium in July this year and like you was unable to book anything for a long while. I contacted the hotel direct and spoke to Ann McIntyre who is the wedding co-ordinator and she is great. You do not need to arrange your wedding through Thomson or Sovereign. My son and his fiancee then booked their room and flight with Sovereign when they were able to do so.

All the guests DO NOT have to stay at the hotel. I felt it was better to speak to Ann rather than some obscure Sovereign person who would not even be there on the day.

I just hope it all goes off okay but feel confident.

Hi Scottish Traveller

No need to worry Ann will look after you. I have ben saying your very sentiments for a long time now to others regarding all the guests do not need to stay at the hotel, only stipulation is that the Wedding couple stays for at least 7 days at the elysium & have the cake from the hotel

At the moment we are looking on net for a good reasonable photographer to do our pictures as if we do it through thomas cook it will cost nearly 500GBP, so if anyone can reccomend one.

Hi Shimmy,

It would be nice if you could let us know how you liked The Athena Beach. We are trying to choose between this hotel and Riu Cyrpia Bay. We want a hotel that is suitable for children also, as we will be travelling with our daughter who will be 20 months old.
Hope your big day goes wonderful

Thanks very much Kev. Think we may go for the Riu, however I have emailed to check if they do free room upgrades for Wedding couples and they tell me I will have to wait until October 2008 to book in order to find out. Maybe we will book with a tour operator and they may be able to organise this for us!!

Hi

I was married in Peyia (just outside Paphos)
In May 2005.
We booked with Cyplon, and stayed at the Alexander the Great Beach Hotel for 3 weeks.

We had to wait until the brochure came out to book, and I was worried we'd not get our dates etc, but we did.

I also chose Cyplon as they offered 3 week holiday, where other companies didn't.

We had the Cypriot Musicians at our wedding, and a sit down BBQ at our hotel over looking the beach.
With a DJ, it was fantastic to eat and dance outside with our wedding party.
I wish I could do it all again!!

Hi all we are plaing our wedding in the elysium paphos & where wondering if anyon can shed some light on the hotel, ie, is it as nice as it looks on the site etc. Also is it advisable to go via a company to book or direct through through thr hotel.
