Have you checked the Tips for 1st Timers thread too?
Don't make eye contact for too long. Be polite but firm. You may well get attention, mostly it's a bit irritating but not that bad. Some will persist as (unfortunately) some women, of all ages, go looking for young men to have a fling. They are married, single women - it's a sad fact & it's making some tar us all with the same brush.
There are 3 fixed price shops in Na'ama, all called Aladin's Cave & situated on His Maj the King of Bahrain St, where the Camel Bar is & the supermarkets are also fixed price. Telling you this in case you want to shop in piece!
If you really do feel threatened / uncomfy, say you'll call the tousist police.
Don't go down the side streets to shop, stay on the main shopping ones or go to the ones I mention.
Personally, I wouldn't go on the beach alone but some do. I'd stay around the hotel pool. I know some say to wear a wedding ring or make out that hubby is a few shops behind or has just nipped back to the room for his book etc.
I wouldn't use the taxis, I'd use the hotel taxi or hotel shuttle bus.
I do know a lady (now in her 50's) who has been 15 times, 14 of which were alone. She manages fine.
Viva bar / restaurant, in front of the Dive Club, on the prom, is quite nice. The manager there is a nice guy, not pushy or sleezy / flirty & I'd be straight there if I were in Na'ama alone!

Few more points; the more you cover up, the more you'll be respected. I always put on a kaftan to go & talk to a waiter around the pool. In resprt I do wear vest tops & shorts, but not short shorts & I don't display cleavage. On trips, I wear 3/4 length trousers & tops that cover the tops of my arms & shoulders.
