Hello
Does OV2 have a weekly/fortnightly drinks card for alcoholic or non-alcoholic drinks?
I've been on some ships that do but can't see any info on this for OV2.
For anyone travelling on 3rd December 2008, see you there!
Thanks.

Drinks Cards?
Hi Cruiseaddict,
Welcome to holiday watchdog and particularly the cruise forum where I amongst others try to answer questions about cruising.
Although I have 'done' serveral on OV and indeed many other lines I can only say the only one who does drinks packages on a regular basis is Thomson. Just phoned P&O (OV2) the service desk said no.

Drinks Cards?
Hi
We are off on the OV on tuesday 27th May, just 48 hours to go!
I understand from friends that there are soda cards which you can buy which work out that you buy 20 soft drinks for the price of 15. We intend to buy these for the children but I assume adults can buy them too. I do not think there is any thing like this for alchoholic drinks but they do wine packages that you buy upfront and bucket of beer deals. I am not sure how good value these are. If you look on the OV website at the bar drink lists they do mention these offers.
You can bring soft drinks and water onto the ship so we plan to buy a few at the ports of call.
Have a great cruise.

Hi Berlingo,
Welcome to the Cruise Forum & HW.
Last time we were on OV you could also take one bottle of wine back from going ashore, though if both of the party tried it they kept one and returned it at end of cruise.
Solution go back on board seprately.
Have a great cruise, and let us know how you got on when you return.

Hi
You can get Soda cards for the children and you get a sports bottle included with the price. But i found that if you have fizzy pop in the bottle it tends to leak (alot) so we put orange squash in the bottle. We didn't notice till near the end but it only costs 40p for a large glass of squash so it isn't really worth it.
Hope this helps

You can purchase a soda card which costs £15 for 20 drinks & they also give you a drinks bottle which you can use for this (but you don't have to, you can have the drinks in a glass). You can have cola, lemonade, fanta or cordial with water/lemonade & I think the normal cost is £1.20 per glass so you are saving a bit.
This is supposedly for kids - they write your child's name at the top of the card - but on only one occasion in 3 cruises have we been stopped from using it ourselves & having 3 drinks off it at the same time (then we just went to a different bar to get the other 2 drinks).
We've just got back from 2 weeks on OV1 & had a great time!

the soda cards DO save money, but the bottle leaks, so you are unable to use the neck strap. It makes your hands sticky, and its annoying carrying it all day. But, if you want to save money, you will have to put up with it.
I hope i have helped.
