My daughter booked with above company last week to go to turkey on 25th Aug, she has just found out the company has stopped trading. Shes gutted as she cant afford to pay for another holiday till her claim is sorted out. Any one else booked with these?

Yeah, I booked my flights and car hire with them. I have paid £615.00 deposit.
I have contacted ABTA who said to contact Virgin (who the flights were booked with) to see if deposits were passed to them. I contacted Virgin and they were no help saying that they could not look into booking.
I called ABTA back and they said to call virgin again on Fri or Monday.
Talk about going in circles AAAARRRGGGGHHH! Just glad i had not paid the full balance

My daughter has tried the flight company but they were not much help and hotel company dont want to know so she gone back to abta but they just keep saying try the companies who she booked with grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr going round in circles here too. Abta did say she will loose some of her money. Credit card company wont touch it till all avenues have been gone down regarding abta etc.

This company was ABTA bonded. Therefore if the actual company the holiday is booked with is also ABTA bonded they will honour the booking and claim whatever money they need from ABTA.
If the company is not ABTA bonded they are still legally obliged to honour the booking as long as you can prove you paid Skybargains. They will then have to try and get the money from the receivers but this is not your problem. Wait a few days and let systems swing into place and you should get more of a response from the applicable companies then.

SD1411. Don't know if this info will help you regarding your booking. We booked through Skybargains to travel to Florida with Virgin on 30th August. Having found out the news about them going into receivership,I checked all my paperwork. Found on comfirmation receipt that they bought the airline seats through a another company called Jetset Flights. If you look on your receipt, its under "Your Flight Details",and will also give you a reference code for your booking. After a little investigation on the web, found out name of company is actually Cresta World Travel, who are ATOL protected. Found out our seats were safe and paid for,so a bit of good news there. Just got to try and sort car rental out, that I had paid Skybargains for.

Skybargains
Hi
I also booked with skybargains and are due to fly out on the 18th August. I have just returned from turkey and did not know anything about it until i received a letter when i got home asking for surcharges from skybargains to be paid to Wings Abroad. I had to pay extra fuel charges on my last flight to Wings Abroad so i know it was genuine.
I telephoned skybargains and was asked for my ref number and was told my payment had been forwarded to wings abroad and to ring them. i rang wings abroad and they confirmed that they had received my payment and have taken over and once my surcharges had been paid they will forward my tickets on to me. I asked what would have happened if my payment had not been forwarded on to them because i know this has happened quite a lot and wings abroad told me in this case if i shown proof of my payment then they would have claimed the money back from abta.
I hope this helps and others receive a similar response
