Thinking about a cruise next year to Norway - can anyone tell me what the weather is likely to be like and do you need lots of warm clothing??

Thanks.

June Weather in Norway

Hi Mrs Johnson,

That is a truly spectacular cruise, we did it this year on the Grand Princess. (see review below)

Generally speaking your normal clothes are okay for the shipboard time. You do need some sort of warm instant jacket when going ashore on tours. we took thick fleeces which I carried in a cheap back pack. at all times.
The weather can change from 65/70 to very cold within a couple of hours particularly if you are going into the mountains. although the coaches are warm. my feeling on this was that we could always take something off, but never knew when you needed a really warm coat.

An example was the North Cape, we did the early morning tour and walk about in a t-shirt, those on the afternoon tour needed coats.

June at sea level is just about the same as at home, but once above the snow line it can be cold.

This was one of our must do Cruises, and worth every penny.

Thanks Tenpin for the info. Really enjoyed reading your review, it was an interesting read. Like the sound of the Grand Princess. We haven't done any of their cruises, just Thomsons and Royal Caribbean.

I'm really keen to see the Fjords and Norway - good weather would be the icing on the cake.

Thanks again.
