Is there a resident Photographer on the Thomson Calypso,? I just wondered with it being a much smaller ship to the rest of the fleet.

Yes there is a photographer. Perhaps a bit more low key than on some ships, tends to concentrate on the table portraits and captain's night (as well as the welcoma aboard photo). They do all the usual photo services.

Hi quzzer, sorry not to have posted a review of the Calypso or sent you the photographs. Been in the Middle East on an off all summer. Will get round to it soon. The photographer on the Calypso is the most low key and least obtrusive I have encountered in all my cruises. Last year there were two and one one them used to go on the big ticket excursions. This year there was only one. F

This year after passing by the photo stands on the way out to the Bistro I wondered why they were all the same. Instead of making prints of all the photos displayed this photographer downloaded them on to a computer and you went up to this and give your dinner sitting and table number and he found the photos taken there. You could review them and if you liked what you saw he would then make prints. Didn't see a lot of evidence of him at the bottom of the gangway when I was taking tours, he seemed to focus mainly on embarkation photos and formal nights.

Hi Mtek.thanks for that info, the wife loves her photographic memories of any holiday and the pros tend to just be a tad better than my efforts..its not till next july we go on calypso, but having booked that cruise about 6 months ago, we are getting keen already...i suppose once christmas is over the next few months will fly by. just got the daughters wedding next june to negotiate cash wise first, then a month later its out turn.any info or photos of the calypso are mighty appreciated,
