Sunrise Group - No Smoking policy

We had been at the Sunrise Holiday Resort in Hurghada (having been there several times previously)and after 2 weeks on 1st June the hotel put up notices in the evening stating that as from 2nd June it was adopting a no-smoking policy in internal areas. I was extremely angry & upset by this as we still had a further week there.

Many of the staff and our Rep. said it was the Law. It IS NOT THE LAW; it was a decision made by the Sunrise Group. We asked about returning to the UK early but this was not viable. We asked to be transferred to other accommodation but the rep said there was no point because all hotels were the same because it was the Law. A downright lie!

We felt victimised & it ruined our holiday. In the evenings we could not sit indoors and enjoy a drink or a coffee. Outside was either too warm, too noisey and too many mosquitos/giant ants.

I realise this comment will get short shrift from non-smokers but both my husband and I have been smoking for over 40 years & it's nice to go on holiday & get away from the restraints we have to suffer in the UK. We had a lot of notice in the UK -but only 6 hours in Sunrise!

SMOKED FOR 48YRS MYSELF TO DO THAT ON A PAYING GUEST SALL NOT NOT BE GOING TO SUNRISE GROUP ANYWHERE.AND SOME HOW HAVE BACKED IN SMOKING BUT STILL SAY THEY SHOULD NOT DO THIS
