Hi, Sorry Im new to this, but my husband and I are off to crete in two weeks, staying in Gournes (yay I cant wait)we are taking the family with us (my mum, brother and niece whos 14)We have been researching a few trips to do while we were there, We would like to go to the palace of knossos and spinalonga but arent sure how much they would cost (we are really trying to budget this holiday lol)so has anyone got any idea of the cost or the best places to get them, also we have pre booked a car while we are there and so will be travelling around the island, so is there anything else we shouldnt miss? also (sorry Im being a right pain)we would like a trip to the waterpark while we are away but there seems to be a few......any recommendations?
Any help anyone could give would be really appreciated, thanks

I would definately visit Knossos, and also Spinalonga if you dont do anything else during your trip, these are definately my favourite two excursions. It has been a couple of years since we went to Knossos so not sure of the entrance fee, but you can save money by not having a tour guide once you get into the palace. The drive is pretty easy too just off the national road and it is well signed post off there. Spinalonga you can catch a ferry from either Agios Nikolaos or Elounda, but I would recommend you drive to Plaka and get the ferry from there the ferry is only a few minutes across the bay and cost 8 euros return, the first ferry leaves Plaka at 10.00 am, these ferries leave every 30 mins, the entrance fee to Spinalonga is 3 euros (If I remember right) Plaka is a lovely village and the fish tavernas are excellent, there is also a small beach too, so pack your trunks and have a swim after walking around spinalonga.
