Thomson Long-Haul

Inside information on Airlines and Airports. Had a bad flight? Tell the world!

Hi we are booked on a Thomsonfly long-haul flight to the Dom Rep in April as it is our 1st long-haul,im wondering what sort of leg room we can expect as we have standard seats. Also how much it will cost us to upgrade to 'premium'(assuming any are available). In the past we have only ever flown with Thomas Cook or First Choice and have been treated like sardines! We quite like Thomson short-haul as they seem to have more room even on these flights.

So basically what can we expect from a 9 hr Transatlantic charter flight?

Any advise welcome

In my opinion they have the best long haul charter product out on the market

Below are what you get in each class so you can compare

Standard class

33" seat pitch as standard - that’s more legroom in long haul economy than BA, Virgin Atlantic, bmi and Monarch*
Stylish leather seats and in-flight amenity pack
7” widescreen seatback TV
Up to 10 movies - 5 each way
Up to 7 TV channels and at least 10 audio channels
6 interactive games
Dedicated kids’ TV channels, cartoons and movies
Free headphones
Friendly and efficient cabin crew
Choice of four-course meal and a snack before landing, inspired by celebrity chef Aldo Zilli in summer 2009†

Premium class

Upgrade to our Premium Class cabin and look forward to all this - at a fraction of the price of scheduled airlines...
At least 36” seat pitch as standard
Wide leather seats with head support
Luxury pampering pack
9” widescreen seatback TV
Entertainment on demand with 'play', 'pause' and 'rewind' function
Up to 16 movies - 8 each way
Up to 7 TV channels and 10 audio channels
Up to 10 interactive games
Complimentary noise-reduction headsets
Dedicated cabin crew
Priority check-in and boarding
Free drinks (not including Champagne) including a drink before take-off
Choice of four-course meal and a snack before landing, inspired by celebrity chef Aldo Zilli in summer 2009†
Free fun kids’ meals

Thanks John, have you any idea where I can see a seating plan, once upon a time these were available on thomson web site, and you could pre-book the prefered seat, I have looked on seat guru.com and they don't have thomson airline

Any ideas?

I must admit, I have been on a couple of other forums, and this one doesn't seem to have much of a response at all - perhaps I should leave this forum alone and find one that is more interactive, clearly this one isn't.

Hi Miss Pink.I have copied and pasted this from another site.

It is so hard to show you the seat plan for thomsonfly aircraft. because it will depend on what plane they are going to use for that day/time. every airline uses different planes for every destination. it would vary from the passenger load and the cargo load. and for security reasons no website will give you seat configuration on any commercial airline. you can only get an overview. unless you book on-line and get a seat on-line. thomsonfly has 22 Boeing 737's, 18 Boeing 757's, 10 Boeing 767's and it has different seat configuration you will be lucky if 5 planes has the same seat configuration

Hope this helps in some way.Apologies if not.As i write this i have searched 2/3 sites and none of them feature Thomson Airways plans.Sorry

Hi Miss Pink
Give people time to reply - you only put the question a few days ago. People have busy lives and are not on HW 24/7 - my experience is that people do respond when they can if they have information to help. Why not ask your tour operator or go directly to Thomson. Enjoy your 2010 holiday in Jamaica and by then you could have the answer to your query.

Miss Pink,

I have just been away again taking on the timeshare touts in spain, so please accept my apologies for a rather tardy reply, however this was with good reason.

No seat maps are available on the internet, however with your tickets comes a seat map. These do vary a little due to 2 different seat configs being used with the old First Choice Airways aircraft and Thomsonfly after the merger but nothing too drastic so im led to believe.

Failing this, please try call Thomson Preflight for an idea as it will be a 767-300 you are on. You can find the number online.
