Traveling to Brazil, RIO DE JENEIRO, advice?

Hey all

me and about 6-7 group of friends will be traveling to Rio and i just had some general questions and advice for rio. Where young group of guys and mainly interested in partying, night life and nice crowded baches with women and etc, so we could book our hotel where the action is.

where going in february for the carnavale as well, but i have no idea where the locationsa nd hotels are.

where traveling from Australia, also wondering how much money to take, how expensive, is food, resturants, alcohol, acxtivities etc.

any tips??
