going to sharm el sheik 2nd july, want to go snorkeling, can i just go of the beach like id do in spain for instance, just go swimming in the sea lol

is this safe, should i buy my gear here or there to be honest just need the mask as i can hold my breath for 4 mins on a trot and all ways choke when use snorkel

i wana do loads of coral swimming, have my own marine tank and taking my d90 with under water casing so as to get some great pictures, just wondering whether anyone can feel me on what to do and so on where the coral are and all, staying in the above hotel, oh and if anyone else is out there in july message me perhaps meet up and go for a snorkel together
