I have just been talking to a friend in Benidorm. They've had a very quiet Christmas and New Year.
Several bars have already closed down, The star and garters, Lennons and Champers are now closed. Many others are fue to close soon. Unfortunately, the state of the pound against the Euro and the credit crunch has hit hard.

Hi Rondetto,
Have you any further news about the state of Benidorm. Are their any other bars/clubs etc closed.
We've been a couple of times and absolutely love the place, and are due to go again in September. I hope things pick up a little before then.

The Leeds arms has closed,Rolling stones, San Miguel fun station are closed.
The Horseshoe bar is closing, Jokers bar has now closed. These are just some, many others are not taking enough to pay their rent let alone pay staff and utility bills.
I can see lots of retired Brits heading back to the UK soon, their pensions are not worth much out there now.

It's been quiet all summer. The Euro has deterred people from Europe this year.
All shops and bars are relying on the mature holidaymakers during the winter months, to keep their businesses alive.
