Young couple - ideas for city break please!
5 posts • Page 1 of 1
My boyfriend and I are looking for ideas of where to go over my birthday, around the 3rd - 6th September. We like the idea of Paris but would like suggestions of relatively cheap but nice hotels there. We also like the idea of somewhere like Krakow or Prague but again are not sure where to stay. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I'm going to Istanbul next month so I will let you know when I get back. I have heard that it is the new 'trendy' place to go for city breaks with lots of good bars and restaurants. Hotels are also pretty reasonably priced compared with Paris or the better known destinations. The flight wasn't too expensive at £140 with Turkish airways, though I believe easyjet also fly there for even less.

I would go with Prague, its very up and coming and reminds me of what Paris was like many years ago before it became over commercialised as it is today. It also still offers very good value for money.

Theres a hotel in prague we found and always stay at called the Ariston. Rooms are great and its only 2 tram stops from Wenceslas square. Only cost us £120 for 2 double rooms including breakfast for 3 nights as well. Opposite is a 24hr bar serving a pint of pilsner for around 60kc so everyones a winner! We have seen tourism affect prague though and prices go up accordingly during the last 2 years
